As noted last month, Ed slipped something rather significant into a comment (#4) in his own blog.

One thing I forgot to mention on the Mac point is that in 7.0.3, we'll be adding Java agent support to the Notes / Mac client.

Well... 7.0.3 is now available. On the fix list, I found SPR EFEN73HQXP :

SPR# EFEN73HQXP - Added code to enable Notes on the Mac to start and run Java and Java agents. Initiallly, GUI generated by Java is not working but will be fixed soon. Also an update in the installer is needed to allow Java to work properly from an install kit.

I do not currently have access to a Mac. I'm very interested in knowing that Java agents really do work. Has anyone been able to confirm it?

Yeah me too, I'd love to know. I have a Mac, but don't have 7.0.3. Doh. I guess I should shell out for Passport access some day...
