ALCS 2004 - Game 7: I Hang My Head In Shame Another dilemma. West Wing or Yankess versus Red Sox. West Wing is, without a doubt, the best show on television. But this is no contest. Kevin Brown makes the start for the Yanks. Damon leads off with a single to left on a 2 and 2 count, and then steals second. But why didn't Bellhorn try to bunt him to third? Strikeout number one for Brown. Bellhorn was the hero yesterday, but he disappoints Sox fans once again today. Ramirez comes up and singles to left, but it's shallow and Damon hesitates on the basepath, Matsui relays to Jeter who pegs to Posada and Damon is out at the plate! Next up, Ortiz. Goodbye! Homer to right. 2 - 0 Sox. Good thing they got Damon. Varitek taps back to the mound for the final out. Bottom of the first, Jeter leads off for the Yanks against Derek Lowe, and flies out to Damon. A-Rod grounded out to Mueller at third. (No interference.) Sheffield struck out looking to end the first. Nixon grounded out to short to start the second. Millar followed with a single to left center, and Mueller walked. The Sox went with the Millar - Mueller lineup! Cabrerra worked Brown to a full count, then walked to load the bases with one out. Brown is gone. Vasquez is in to pitch. Damon up to bat. A double play is sorely needed. GRAND F---ING SLAM! 6 - 0 Sox. Bellhorn walks to continue the disaster. I'm outta here. Blogging this is (a) depressing, or (b) jinxing the Yankees. Either way, I've had enough.
