Arch-Conservative Former NH Senator Endorses Kerry

According to the Kerry-Edwards blog, New Hampshire's former Senator Bob Smith, known as the most conservative member of the US Senate, and himself a candidate for the Republican party's presidential nomination in 2000, has endorsed John Kerry for President in 2004. I don't think I've agreed with Senator Smith on a single significant issue, nor have I ever had a high opinion of his intellect or integrity... until now. I'll update this with a primary source link if and when I can find it.

Update My friend Bruce found a copy of Bob Smith's endorsement letter. (Bruce will be canvassing in or around Manchester, NH tomorrow. I'll be canvassing in or around Nashua. And I'm bringing copies of the letter with me.)
