Credit Where It Is Due: VeriSign Does Something Right

I'm so used to criticizing VeriSign that I find myself almost hesitant to say this, but they are taking a giant step forward in the way they manage DNS for the .com and .net zones: updates to the root servers will now occur every five minutes, instead of just twice a day. Not only are they doing something right, they're even going about it the right way, by pre-announcing it and soliciting comments.

Then again... what took them so long? This should have happened years ago. Ooops! Guess I just can't help myself. ;-)
