Do I Need An About Page?

Bruce Elgort just added an About page to his blog. Do I need one? I have a link to my company site, and there's an About page there, and a Biographies page there. I also have a link to my personal web page. All of these links, however, take you outside of the look and feel of my blog, which makes them seem a little bit like I'm trying to distance myself from this blog. I'm not trying to do that, so maybe that's a good reason to put up a page with information about this blog, who I am, and why I'm blogging.
