Just a couple of more observations about the weekend...
Gonzo party: good! Too bad I got there late. I always need a clone when I'm at Lotusphere
This is the first time in many years that I'm not rooming with Moses Peabody. He's very busy keeping the Notes.Net and associated web sites running at IBM right now, but I do wish he could be here. It's a shame that his perfect streak of Lotusphere attendance had to break this year. Moe and I go back about 15 years now, I think.
Sunday BDD sessions: Morning... some interesting news, but also a couple of things that I'm at least a little skeptical about. I'll keep the details to myself, for now, at least until I have a chance to let someone from Lotus disabuse me of any misconceptions I may have picked up. Afternoon: two of four breakouts were pretty much worthless. Partly my fault for making bad choices, but also the fault of poor descriptions in the program. The other two were very good. Ed Brill was, as usual, one of the very good ones. The overview of development tool strategy was also very good, and a question I asked really seemed to resonate with the presenters: "Why isn't there a single place to go, a single URL, with all the information and all the links necessary to identify, download, and install Workplace?" Discussion at the podium after the talk led to some interesting ideas, and I hope they follow through on them.
