Summer Bachelorhood Is About To Be Over As I told you a couple of months ago, I went through my annual summer faux bachelorhood again this year. In a few minutes, I'll be leaving to drive down to Massachusetts. I'll be brining the kids home from camp early tomorrow afternoon. Beth will come home on Monday, after helping to close the camp infirmary. I got a lot done on the home front this year. Not as much as I had hoped, but more than in most previous years. Shelves in the dining room. Shelves in the bathroom. Shelves and cabinets in the kitchen. Major cleanup in each of those rooms. Minor cleanup in my office. So, how long will it take for my family to turn all this newly organized space back to chaos? Probably not very long at all ;-)
As for the diet, it's time for a progress report. I had hoped to reach 20 to 25% of my overall goal during these past 8 weeks. I fell one or two pounds short of that. And summer really lasts until the equinox, and my planned timetable for weight loss extends over at least a full year, so I think I should give myself four more weeks to get to the 25% mark. I've lost two inches from my waist already, and slow progress on weight been continuing steadily -- with the exception of last week, which saw a minor reversal. The real challenge comes now, however: keeping it going after the carbivore family members have come home. I've spent a good bit of time over the summer learning some good ways to prepare large amounts of low-carb diet friendly foods, so my plan is going to be to stock up the fridge once a week with things that I can microwave for myself when the family meal is carb-heavy.
