Verisign Petition

By way of Michael Braly, here is a formal petition to ICANN demanding that they intervene to stop Verisign's wildcarding/hijacking of .com and .net domain names.

Please go and sign it. Verisign's ill-considered unnovation breaks technology you depend on. Make a typo in the domain name when you try to tracert a host? Better have good eyes, because it will now happily attempt to trace the path to Verisign! Want to verify the domain of inbound email messages to cut down on spam? Tough luck! DNS will now return a valid result for invalid domains. Want to get a helpful "host not found" error message instead of a misleading "server not responding" message when you have a typo in a configuration? Better sign the petition!!
