Yet Another Brilliant Idea Bites The Dust I've been reading about the security woes of Los Alamos, and wondering why someone hasn't figured out a way to embed RFID tags in all removable media approved for use in secure facilities. Was thinking "Someone could make a lot of money selling the disks, and burners that won't accept media unless the tag is detecteed and log the data that is burned to each disk, and doorway sensors...". Then I remembered two simple words: Farraday cage. A security system that can be defeated by a couple of sheets of aluminum foil probably won't help solve the DOE's problem.
